Product Story

The cultivation area of Taiwanese mung beans has been steadily declining due to labor-intensive farming and the impact of imported beans. In just 30 years, locally grown mung beans have been largely replaced—making the familiar taste of traditional Taiwanese mung bean soup increasingly rare.

In response, a group of dedicated farmers in Taiwan are working to restore local grain agriculture. Among them, farmer Tsai De-Huang is actively promoting the revival of mung bean cultivation and other grains, striving to create new opportunities for small farmers and more sustainable, friendly agriculture in Taiwan.
